Short Bio

A Cape Cod based Landscape Painter

Statement

I have spent the majority of my life on or near water and grew up sailing. As a sailor you study and learn to read the clouds and the water to try and predict what will come next. With my art, my study of water, clouds and nature has continued. I try to encapsulate the mood of what nature is putting out there. Sometimes she is angry or there is the prelude of anger, but within a very short period of time it may transition into a beautiful and clear day or the tide will have come in and have changed all the reflections and colors of the water.  I am entranced by the change in hues and values of the same scene from summer to winter and from different parts of the world. I want to capture it all, at least for a moment in time.

After graduation she worked as a graphic designer for 7 years before pivoting her career to physical therapy. During Covid she was able to take the time to pick up her paintbrush again and move to Cape Cod where she reconnected with her love of painting. Mora has spent most of her life on the water either swimming, sailing or kiteboarding. Any day spent by the water, rain or shine, is a good day. Her love of the outdoors, water and mountains inspires much of her art.
